Trip to coorg ( May 21st to May 23rd)-2022

 We 4 ( single family).

Travel mode: By car

Route- Bangalore-mandya--diversion towards brindavan garden--kushal nagar-madikeri

Up and down: Road is good except while going the mysore highway is under construction.

Day 1( May 21 st).

---------------------

Started from Bangalore at 5:45 AM. Had breakfast near ramnagara. Before reaching Madikeri, we went to Golden temple ( Nice place). We have to go inside from the main Road (~ 6kms)

There is an auditorium where Buddha and his disciples statues can be seen. Good place. Area nearby golden temple are tibetians. They have a seperate school. Most of the them are monks.

Parking is available.

After that we went to have lunch and checked in to homestay ( Madikeri misty homestay). It's an OK kind of home stop.

During evening, we went to Rajas street. It's park with a good view point. On the way back, we went to hop coms to buy coffee powder and home made chocolates. Hopcoms is located in Madikeri town.

At night , we bought dinner from Greenland hotel in Madikeri town. Food  was very good.

Day 2( May 22 nd).

---------------------

After breakfast, we went to Talacauvery( Origin of cauvery river). Drive from Madikeri to Talacauvery is good and is full of green cover. It took an hour to reach there. There is a temple at the top and was full of mist when we went there. Very beautiful view and location.

On the way back there are lot of spices and wine shop. Instead of buying from madikkeri town , it can be brought from here. quality and cheaper.

After spending close to 1 hour, we  were back to homestay. We had lunch in Nilgris hotel ( good hotel)

We went to Aby falls after that. Not much excitement. No bathing allowed in Aby falls. After that we went to the museum(General Thimayya Museum) . Good museum recently opened and is a must visit.

Then we went to old museum . Museum is not that good, but lot of open spaces to walk and take photographs.

Day 3:

We checked out and went to Dubera elephant camp which is ~35 kms from  Madikeri. Kids for sure will enjoy this place. They can feed elephant.

After that we drove back to Bangalore.

DO's and DONT's.

1) Most of the auto/cabs/ will point to City spices for buying coffee powder or any other special items in Madikeri. It is very expensive compared to other shops. They get commission for reference.

 2) Try Tandoori chai from Kunigal town on the way back to Bangalore.Very good.

3) If you have family with kids, stay in resort or hotel than staying in homestay. Safety is a concern in homestays and bachelors also stay there.

4) Green land hotel in Madikeri town is good for non-veg lovers.

5) You can hire an auto for a single day trip in madikeri(~700Rs per day local sight seeing they will take care)

6) Visit Duberra elephant as early as possible to avoid long queues.
